RDP connection fails with error 0x3 Extended error 0x7

Symptom:

When connecting to your Server, the connection fails with the error code: 0x3 Extended 0x7.

Cause:

The cause of this error is due to the RDP Connection Broker Service not running on the host.

Resolution:

1. Connect to the host from the management console

2. Go to services

3. Check for any outstanding Windows Updates and process them

4. Restart the host

5. Ensure the service Remote Desktop Connection Broker is running
